  • Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

    Your first stop of the day will be the Pinnawala Elephant orphanage which is said to be the “Largest Herd of Captive Elephants in the World” as it gives shelter to around 100 majestic elephants and calves.

  • Sigiriya Rock Fortress

    Next, you will travel to the marvelous city of Sigiriya, home to the so-called “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. This historical monument allows you to witness a breathtaking landscape view of the country once you climb to the top, situated in a historically and archaeologically significant site.

  • Dambulla Royal Cave Temple

    As the final destination of the day, you will visit a World Heritage site located in the heart of Sri Lanka, the Dambulla Royal Cave Temple also known as the Golden Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage site is the largest cave temple site in the country which holds the pride of comprising over 80 caves under overhanging rock. The cave ceilings and walls are filled with intricate murals depicting the proud moments in Buddhist history.

    This day is fully allocated for you to witness the ancient kingdom of Polonnaruwa, known for its breathtaking city structure filled with ancient murals from the Sinhalese Kingdom. By now, this city is a huge treasure for the country as it holds many well-preserved structures, including the Royal Palace, Audience Hall, and the iconic Gal Vihara, known for its impressive rock-cut Buddha statues, along with enormous agricultural lands, reservoirs and forests.

  • Back to the hotel at Dambulla

    After the remarkable excursion at the kingdom, you will be escorted back to the accommodation at Dambulla while you witness the eye-catching view of the Sri Lankan countryside on your way back.
