Katunayake to Kandy
Upon your arrival at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be escorted by a representative, after a warm welcome, directly to the serene city of Kandy, the “Cultural Capital of Sri Lanka”, located in the heart of the island.
Pinnawala, the home of orphaned Elephants
En route to Kandy, you will get the privilege of visiting the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, which is said to have the “World's Largest Captive Herd of Elephants”, giving shelter to over 100 elephants and calves. Here, you can witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat and even get the opportunity to feed them and see them bathing at the nearby river.
Back on the journey to Kandy
After the joyful visit to the Elephant Orphanage, your journey towards Kandy will resume. Upon arriving in Kandy you will be taken to your accommodation, where you can freshen up and recharge to continue your adventure in this amazing country.
The Temple of the Tooth
The first destination in Kandy will be the sacred Temple of the Tooth, also known locally as “Sri Dalada Maligawa.” This UNESCO World Heritage is a real gem filled with fully authentic architectural paintings and murals exhibiting the proud Sri Lankan Buddhist heritage. This sacred place is revered by all Sri Lankans regardless of their religious beliefs, for its magnificent atmosphere and serene environment.
Leisurely Time for Yourself
After visiting the temple , you can treat yourself to a stroll in this historic city. The calming ambiance of the city will fill your heart while you take a walk down the aesthetic path around Kandy Lake, located in the center of the city, or visit the local markets and boutiques as you wish. This will be the perfect end to your first day on this island.

Towards Sigiriya via Dambulla
Dambulla Royal Cave Temple
Along the way to Sigiriya, your first stop for the day will be the Dambulla Royal Cave Temple, known for its mesmerizing blend of ancient art, history, and spirituality. The famous caves under the overhanging rock have established this historical venue as the best-preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka, containing over 150 Buddha statues and paintings.
Your accommodation at Sigiriya
After exploring the caves at Dambulla, your journey to Sigiriya will continue. Upon arriving in Sigiriya, your accommodation will offer you great hospitality services while you relax and freshen up to go on your next voyage to the marvelous rock fortress at Sigiriya.
Sigiriya the Rock Wonder
The Sigiriya Rock Fortress, also known as the Lion Rock, stands majestically in an environment filled with water features, terraced gardens, and natural boulders. Night at Sigiriya
